Testing Safety Glasses with an Air Rifle

We briefly had a Beeman RX-2 air rifle here at the lab, and we couldn't resist testing it out against a few different targets, including a pair of safety glasses. This particular model is powered by a manually-cocked gas-spring piston which fires a 22 caliber pellet at 860 fps. That's extraordinarily powerful for an air gun. It's also extraordinarily illegal to possess in NYC! We only had it here at the lab for a few days while I was waiting to deliver it to my father in Rhode Island. It's now assisting in his ongoing war against groundhogs.
