First Test of our Drawing Pendulum

One of our intern projects this semester was to construct a drawing-pendulum. Our first test showed that a marker drawing on paper generates a bit too much drag to produce a good pattern. Drawing on polyethylene plastic worked quite a bit better. We eventually ended up creating a suspension system above the marker to counterbalance some if it's weight. This reduced the drag produced by the marker, which allowed us to get good results using regular paper.
